There are SO many great dining decisions to be made in the next two weeks!

Well, we’ve done the Savor Sarasota flyover (you can read that HERE if you haven’t already). Now it’s time for a bit more of an up-close look.

Sure, it’s nice to know which restaurants are participating. At least that way, you’re not just driving around randomly looking for a prix fixe menu deal. But wouldn’t it be even better to know what your options are once you step through the doors to begin your dine-o-rama? Of course it would be.

As usual, we are here to help. But don’t worry, we’re not going to write a 30,000-word tome that includes every menu from every restaurant. That would be crazy. Or would it?...

Yes, it would be crazy. Let’s keep this simple. Let’s just take an inside look at a couple of menus and give you a little flavor of just what you can expect. We like to be fair about things here, so we spun the big wheel of Savor restaurants. The wheel chose two for us.

AH, you didn’t think we actually had a Savor Sarasota wheel. YES, WE DO!

The wheel has spoken, and our first stop on our Savor Sarasota culinary journey is Selva Grill! (1345 Main St. (941) 362-4427 and 67 N. Cattlemen Rd. (941) 358-6272) Yep, that Selva Grill. Selva’s been a big player on the Sarasota restaurant scene since 2004. They were one of the first local places to put the spotlight on Peruvian ceviche, and people LOVED IT!

They are one of the few places in town with both a Happy Hour menu AND a Late Night menu. But we’re not here to talk about either of those. We're here to talk about their Savor Sarasota menu!

Let’s take a look at what Selva Grill is cooking up for you for Restaurant Week.

Selva Grill’s Salmon Chileno – Image Provided

First Course (Choice of):

Selva Wild Ceviche - Ceviche of fresh seasonal white fish & fresh lime, onion, cilantro, Cusco corn & roasted camotes.

Maya Shrimp Ceviche - Shrimp marinated in orange, lime juice, achiote, tossed with avocado, tomato, red onion & Cusco corn.

Second Course (Choice of):

Malbec Braised Short Ribs - Slow braised Short Ribs in Selva’s own sweet demi-glace served with Israeli curry couscous risotto and roasted asparagus.

Arroz con Pato - Grilled Duck breast, cilantro, and green pea beer risotto, with a roasted red pepper salsa.

Salmon Chileno - Chilean Salmon, jumbo lump crab, and manchego topping, served with jasmine rice and roasted bell pepper tamale, finished with a mango beurre monte.

Third Course (Choice of):

Pot of Mousse - Bittersweet and white chocolate mousses, dark chocolate “pot” cappuccino tartufo chocolate

Selva Sundae - Coconut & guava ice cream with slow-roasted rum pineapple

Those are some difficult decisions that’ll you have to make. Of course, you’ve got the ceviche we discussed earlier if you want to take that route (which is always a good one at Selva).

It doesn’t matter if you live close to downtown or up in the Lakewood Ranch area. The special SS menu is available at both of their locations.

Before we see who restaurant number two is, let’s have a little Savor fact check.

· Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week runs June 1-14.

· There are 40+ Sarasota restaurants participating this year.

· Specially priced prix fixe menus

· $20 for lunch - $35 for dinner

· Here’s your print-ready dining checklist!

📝 Just a quick note. It seems like everything has gotten so expensive these days. Everything! Savor Sarasota is the perfect opportunity for you to dine on some delicious local cuisine without breaking the bank. You should absolutely take advantage of that!

And now back to our regularly scheduled article...

Let’s see what’s behind door number two, where the lovely Carol Merrill is standing...

It’s Libby’s Neighborhood Brasserie! (1917 S. Osprey Ave. (941) 487-7300 and 8445 Lorraine Rd. (941) 357-1570) Again, a little bit of a two for one here. They are serving a special Savor Sarasota menu at both the LWR and Southside Village locations.

Those two menus are a pretty good example of the upscale dishes being offered by our local Sarasota restaurant for the first two weeks of June.

Unfortunately, we only have space here to highlight a couple of menus for you. If you’re looking for details on all of the menus, we can help. Here’s where you can find that information! COMPLETE SAVOR SARASOTA MENU INFO.

📝 Since we published our Savor Sarasota preview last week, there have been some last-minute additions to the Savor lineup. They include: Bistro at SAM, Breakfast at Victoria's, Crow's Nest Restaurant, Tavern & Marina, Landy's Restaurant, Off the Hook Seafood, and Tsunami Sushi and Hibachi. That brings the total to 40+ restaurants!

OK, we hope your appetite is sufficiently whetted. Also, like we mentioned last time we were together, don’t forget to use the #savorsarasota hashtag for pics. And if you’ve had a Savor Sarasota dining experience that you would care to share, our dineSarasota FB page is the perfect place for that! Let’s get that conversation started! 🗣️
